Black Beans
General Description
Black beans are known scientifically as Phaseolus vulgaris. All of them derived from a common bean ancestor originated in Peru. They spread throughout South and Central America, and then to India most likely through Indian traders. Beans were introduced into Europe in the 15th century by Spanish explorers. Argentina is well recognized by the world market as a high quality source for these beans together with a remarkable appearance and extraordinary taste. Health Benefits
Black Beans are an excellent source of protein, rich in fiber and low in fat. They also rank low in glycemic index (preventing blood sugar levels from rising too rapidly after a meal), which altogether makes an excellent source to lose body weight in a healthy way.
